Daedalus is currently the only wallet that Cardano supports. It was developed by the Cardano network to provide the highest level of encryption to users. Daedalus is a cross-platform web-based wallet, which means it can be accessed from any operating system and browser.

Daedalus has grown in popularity in a short period of time as it offers a wide range of functions. Users can manage the wallet easily and securely with the help of high-tech functions. Organizing and collecting funds is also easy, and this convenience and ease of use is what makes Daedalus such a well-known Cardano wallet.

Is the Daedalus wallet safe?

Daedalus logo

Cardano is a highly secure blockchain platform written in Haskell - a programming language that uses complex mathematical logic to code and has a high level of fault tolerance. This is how Haskell differs from other programming languages. Such a high level of fault tolerance is required because the protocols for creating Cardano ADA coins are to be distributed with a large number of cryptographic codes. Haskell is not used by many cryptocurrency platforms due to its complexity. But Cardano used it and made the platform highly secure.

Since Daedalus is based on the same platform, it is as secure as Cardano itself. Cardano's wallet technology is more secure than most of the others due to its highly innovative, peer-reviewed research. Daedalus has an encrusted structure as well as formal verification codes.

It's easy to contact customer support for any kind of help. Users can use the Online resources on the Daedalus and Cardano websites or connect with the team on social networks. There are different levels of trust when it comes to the legitimacy of the Daedalus wallet. There are a number of people who claim that Cardano and Daedalus are scams, this may be because Daedalus is an online wallet and several other online wallets have proven to be scams in the past.

How do you use the Daedalus wallet?

Since it's a web-based wallet, it's pretty easy to use. You need to install the application on your device to get started. After the installation, the application opens automatically. You can then set up a wallet and start sending and receiving coins.

Step 1: Download and run the wallet installer.

You must never give this password to third parties or save it in another location where other people can easily access it.

Step 3: create a recovery password.

You need to understand that access to your password can allow almost anyone to take money out of your wallet. That is why you have to be very careful how you save your password. It is best to make a note of it and not write it down somewhere.

After you've created a wallet, you'll need to create a recovery phrase. If you forgot your password, you can use the recovery phrase to gain access to your wallet. Remember to never share this phrase with anyone.

Name your wallet

Step 4: start using the wallet.

Once you have confirmed the recovery phrase, you will be directed to a window with the terms and conditions. Read them through once, then tick the boxes and click the confirmation button to create the wallet.

To send coins from one wallet to another, click 'Send', then copy and paste the recipient's wallet address. Next, enter the amount and click 'Next'. On the next page you have to confirm the transaction when you are shown the wallet address, the amount, the fees and the total amount for the recipient. If everything is OK, click 'Submit'.

To receive Cardano ADA-Coin in your wallet, first click on 'Receive'. The sender should have the wallet address for sending the coins. When the sender is next to you, they can simply scan the QR code. Once you have sent and received coins, you can generate a new address by clicking on 'Generate new address'.

You can review your transactions by clicking on 'Transaction'. You can also change the settings of your wallet and delete the wallet if you want.

Daedalus fees

The transaction fees for using the Daedalus wallet differ from those of other wallets. There is no fixed transaction fee. Instead, it is calculated using a specific formula. During the calculation, the special constant ADA coin value of 0,155381 is added to a 0,000043946 ADA coin / byte and then multiplied by the size of the transaction in bytes. This makes 0,1641702 ADA coin, which is the total transaction fee.

Some of the special features of the wallet are:

  • Daedalus has a secure, highly encrypted platform and passwords that improve security levels and protect users from security threats such as malware and hacks.
  • Users also have the option to export a paper certificate for maximum security.
  • The wallet is able to accept a directly established ADA coin redemption and it can also support both the encrypted and the unencrypted redemption certificates.
  • In the wallet there is a security monitoring with regard to configurable transactions. This offers security in the event of irreversible transactions.
