Exodus Wallet ▷ Our experience with the all-rounder!

About this guide: Our Exodus guide shows you how to set up and use one of the most popular free cryptocurrency wallets. We'll show you which cryptocurrencies you can store in it, how to use Exodus and how to set it up.
What is exodus
Exodus was officially launched on Jan. Introduced July 29 and is a cryptocurrency wallet solution that enables you to store and manage your crypto. As a software solution, you should be aware that it is not as secure as a hardware wallet. With this in mind, we believe Exodus is one of the best free wallets out there. Around 2016 people on CryptoCompare have already rated it 400 out of 4,2 stars.
What sets Exodus apart from its competitors is its beautiful, simple design, as well as the removal of confusing cryptocurrency jargons. The Exodus Wallet is the perfect option for people who are new to the cryptocurrency market.

Public address: The public address is essentially the same as your bank account number. If someone wants to send you money, give them your public address to complete the transaction.
Private key: Think of the “private key” as a complex password. It is extremely important that you never share this key with anyone. If someone finds out your private key, they can access your crypto wallet. A private key is essentially the same as the PIN on your bank account; You should treat him the same way.
You will receive a private key. Do not lose him. If you lose your key, you will likely lose access to your wallet.
Which cryptocurrencies are supported?
The number of supported cryptocurrencies is probably the most important factor when choosing a wallet.
Exodus actually supports a significant number of different cryptocurrencies, adding new keys frequently.

More than just a wallet:
The main function of Exodus is the wallet function. However, many will find that the Portfolio function is extremely useful for keeping track of your cryptocurrency investments. The design is very simple but effective.

Exodus also has an integration with the Shapeshift exchange. This means that within Exodus you can exchange any stored cryptocurrency for another and you don't have to send your coins to an exchange to trade.

I have coins on Coinbase. How do I send you to Exodus?
We showed you in the section above how to find your public address for Bitcoin. You should follow these steps for each individual cryptocurrency. The reason for this is that the public address can be different for each cryptocurrency. For example, your Ethereum address will be different from your Bitcoin address.
Log into Coinbase and go to the "Accounts" tab.
Click the Submit button. Choose the currency you want.

Paste your Exodus address into the recipient address field of the wallet and enter the amount you want to withdraw. In this example we used Bitcoin.

Click Next and complete the transaction. Your money will be displayed in the Exodus shortly.
